Joe McCuaig is an artist with a very beautiful simple and straightforward means of expression. His carvings and paintings strike deep into the core of the folk-roots of this country. He has referred to himself at times as an 'outlander artist' as a humorous alternative to 'outsider'. He lives in rural northern Michigan.
